Arizona State University Masters Scholarship

Arizona State University, in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, will give graduate scholarships to train 25 young African professionals at the Master's level for various programs over a four-year period (2021 – 2025).

Scholarship Overview:

Scholars have the option to work part-time with the Baobab team while classes are in session to receive hands-on experience executing the strategic objectives of the Baobab Platform. Ten scholarships are available for students enrolled for the 2023/2024 academic year, including full tuition costs, housing expenses, and comprehensive assistance for the two-year graduate program. In addition to financial assistance, Scholars will take part in activities as part of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Arizona State University, such as leadership courses, individual mentoring, and other events and programs.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must meet academic requirements for admission to the degree program of their choice, which includes a high level of English proficiency.
  • The applicant must be an African citizen.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time of application.
  • Applicants must have a track record of community leadership and service.
  • Applicants must be economically disadvantaged and demonstrate a lack of financial resources from family or other sources to continue graduate study in their own country or overseas.
  • Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree and have completed at least four years of study.
  • For the length of the program, applicants must be able to live in Phoenix, Arizona.
