In the United States, the M-1 visa is a type of nonimmigrant visa that allows students to pursue vocational or nonacademic programmes, such as training in technical or mechanical fields. The M-1 visa is valid for one year and can be renewed once for another year. To be eligible for an M-1 visa, a student must be enrolled in an approved programme, have enough funds to support themselves without working in the United States, and have a residence abroad to which they intend to return.
